A sort of, kind of, announcement
And a final note on happiness before we enter 2023
For the past few years, I’ve felt the New Year come softly and quietly. The passage of this time feels like a gentle stroll through an expanse of plush, rolling hills. I’m rooted into the earth, solid and grounded, yet at the same time, I’m swirling around a bit lazily and lusciously, infusing in all that is fluffy and fragrant.
Whether you’re thinking,
“what is she on,”
or
“what is she on, so I can get some too,”
what I mean is that this time of the year is sharply sensual and full of contrasts. The cold weather pushes up against our skin, and we note the difference between what is us and what is not. Work drops off temporarily, and we feel pulled between lingering and stretching ahead.
All of nature is withdrawn and it is easy to be contemplative. As you think about the themes you’d like your upcoming year to hold, I have a simple message for you regarding happiness.
The desire to be happy is a noble wish to infuse into your new year. It may be the unspoken end goal of many of your resolutions, the driver behind all you plan to accomplish.
However, know that happiness is simply a feeling state that is your birthright. It is not a sequence to be followed, known only to few, found only at the end of a long road. It is the nourishing state of fullness that is the essence of your soul. You and it are not separate, but inseparable. It closer to you than your breath, yet there are no directions to it. It is beyond the intellect, but not beyond your daring. The way to it is through you. You, who are a note of Creation. You, who are the embodiment of blessing. Ask yourself, how may I respect and honor my life force? And you will begin to taste the sweetness. Not just of happiness, but of the magnificence of all of Life opening up and inviting you to play.
Thank you for tuning in to this space with me. I deeply appreciate each one of you.
It’s been a liminal period for me, but as you can perhaps tell, I’ve been playing with the creation of…something. An exciting birth is brewing…but I suppose you could also call it a new business.
Most of its details are hazy, but there is no doubt the intention behind what my creations will offer is astonishingly strong and clear. Stay tuned, and we will both find out what it will be :)
Much love,
Eden
