The cost of imposing morality on the body is access to a deep and true sovereignty. Morality imposed by the self, on the self, does not necessarily have the purpose of serving the Self chiefly.
Self-imposed morality lurks within our bodies, squeezing and choking our insides so that we may be right, good, and belong. It forces us to repress, resist, and abandon our natural, biological needs, until our bodies have no choice but to cry out from pain and beg for relief through the language of illness. Lifetimes have been blindly dedicated to, slaved away for, and ultimately lost forever in the name of an all knowing and righteous morality that sneers at your inherent ability to intuit what is for you and what is not for you.
Yet all the while, miraculously, a seed of sovereignty always remains. However latent, hidden away, or unconscious, it lives on within the core of our being, shining with the force of our Truth and patiently waiting to be unearthed and nurtured to maturity. To know that this seed of personal truth has always been with us, no matter what conditions the body and spirit has been subject to, is a heartbreakingly beautiful testament to Life.
Our hold on sovereignty is tenuous at best, so long as we continue to ascribe reigning superiority to morality instead of Self. Ask - “in service of who?” and allow the sweet spirit of compassion to guide you back to yourSelf.
Infinite devotion,
Eden Harmony
